BLK BOX Utility Gym Flooring Roll – 10mm

The BLK BOX Utility Gym Flooring Roll 10mm provides high compression resistance and impact strength and is a great option for all home gyms. The Utility Gym Flooring Roll will protect your equipment when dropped and protect the floor below.

Construction

The 10mm gym roll is constructed from SBR rubber with EDPM granules bonded with PUR which is highly compression resistant and provides a noise reduction of 18 decibels.

Sound reduction and Protection

Free weight and lifting areas, whether at home or in the gym, are often subject to persistent impact. Gym flooring must therefore reduce sound and vibration to minimise disruption to surrounding areas. It must also offer protection to your equipment and subfloor in case of any drops or accidents.

The BLK BOX Utility Gym Flooring Roll – 10 mm offers a shock absorption of 18.5% (tested to EN14808), and a 18dB sound reduction.

Installation

Before installation, it is important to make sure the floor is level, firm, absorbent as well as dry and clean. Repair any cracks and irregularities in the floor. Turn off underfloor heating 24 hours prior to installation and at least 48 hours after. Rolls must be acclimatised for 24 hours prior to laying and can be cut to size using a share bladed knife or carpet cutter. These rolls are to be installed using an adhesive to bond to the floor, we recommend a 2-K PU adhesive. Before adhesive has cured, roll over the flooring with a pressure roller, rubbing the header joints and seams.

Cleaning

The tiles are easily cleaned and can be vacuumed and mopped. We do no recommend machine cleaning or using solvent-based cleaning agents. Always use a neutral pH cleaner and warm water Check out our how-to guide here for cleaning rubber gym flooring.

Each roll is 10,000mm (10m) long and 1250mm (1.25m) wide. Thickness is 10mm.

How is this installed?

Preparation:

• Ensure the subfloor is level, firm, absorbent as well as dry and clean 
• Repair any cracks and irregularities in the floor  
• Ensure floor heating is switched off 24 hours prior to installation, and at least 48 hours after (or adhesive curing time, whichever is longer) 
• Rolls must be acclimatised for 24 hours prior to laying 
• Lay out rolls for several hours before final laying and cutting 

Installation: 

• Inside of the roll is the top layer 
• Always start at the same wall 
• Joints must be flush when laying  
• Welding of the seams is not necessary 
• Use an adhesive to bond the roll to the floor, we recommend a 2-K PU adhesive
• Before adhesive has cured, roll over the floor with a pressure roller, rubbing the header joints and seams as required 
• Roll can be cut with a sharp bladed knife or carpet cutter 

How are these flooring rolls cleaned?

This flooring roll is easily cleaned and maintained. We would advise not using a machine or any solvent based cleaners. Always use a neutral pH cleaner and warm water.
